Ecological Advice Scheme
The NHS Forest is currently delivering a project funded under the Trees Call to Action programme, focusing on outcomes related to the England Trees Action Plan. These outcomes include promoting better management of tree and woodland assets on the NHS estate.
This work includes providing fully funded bespoke ecological advice across sites in England. Depending on the needs of your site, the work can include:
- an assessment of the current and potential biodiversity opportunities on the site
- opportunities for tree planting to support a wider landscape vision and with a recommendation for % canopy cover
- tree management plan with specific recommendations for actions and tree replacement as a result of disease e.g. ash dieback
- a brief assessment and summary explanation of the ecosystem services/natural capital benefits of the woodland
- providing a vision for your woodland as a community asset emphasising its benefits from an ecological, social and cultural perspective
